Dreame is a reading app that caters to the English-speaking Southeast Asian market for female readers between the ages of 18-35. Dreame currently accepts fiction titles only.
How Does Dreame Work?
The Dreame reading app uses an episodic model. Instead of buying the entire ebook at once, readers pay with virtual coins to unlock each new episode of content.
How Do Authors Earn Royalties Through Dreame?
Dreame uses an episodic transaction model. As mentioned above, every book is divided into 1000-word segments. $1.00 pays for 100 coins and 1 coin unlocks 100 words. So, $1.00 could unlock a 10,000-word story.
However, 10% of every book is offered for free so readers can have a preview. So, a book with 50,000 words may retail for $4.50 USD (45,000 words / 10,000). The author’s royalty rate is up to 25% of the retail price.
If you receive low royalties from Dreame, don't worry! It simply means that the reader only read a small portion of your book, not the full content.
