What kind of adult content categories does PublishDrive accept?

We accept adult content, including erotica, but our stores have their preferences regarding the type of content they distribute.

When uploading a book, the categories of adult content you can choose from are the following:

  • Incest or pseudo-incest
  • Bestiality
  • Rape for titillation
  • Virgin titles (over 18)
  • Dubious consent
  • Non-consensual sexual slavery
  • Lactation
  • Other erotic content
  • Adult, but not erotic

We break down what each category entails below.

Incest or pseudo-incest: depicts sexual relations between people classed as being too closely related to marry each other (eg. parent, child, sibling, grandparent). Pseudo-incest refers to sexual relations with someone with a familial relationship, but not a blood relationship.

Bestiality: depicts sexual intercourse between a person and an animal.

Rape for titillation: erotica that is centered around non-consensual sexual relations. If one or more of the characters don’t give their explicit consent, the book contains ‘rape for titillation’. Books that treat the subject of rape from an educational point of view, mention it briefly as part of a non-erotic plot or to talk about a survivor’s personal experience, don’t fall into this category.

Virgin titles (over 18): books that have the word ‘virgin’ in their title. All characters have to be over the age of 18. If the erotica you submit has characters who are under 18, it will not be accepted for distribution.

Dubious consent: erotica that assumes the existence of a grey area between consent and non-consent. In these stories, “consent is unknown, not established with certainty, or gained through questionable circumstances”*.

Non-consensual sexual slavery: sexual slavery means “attaching the right of ownership over one or more people with the intent of coercing or otherwise forcing them to engage in sexual activities”*. In the BDSM community, instances of consensual sexual slavery exist, but if your book depicts what’s mentioned above without the presence of consent, it falls into this category.

Lactation: the act of breastfeeding is depicted in an erotic context. All the participants are consenting adults.

Other erotic content: if your book contains erotic content, but none that match the categories above, select this option.

Adult, but not erotic: if your book doesn’t contain erotic content, but has profanity or depictions of extreme violence, this category applies.
